Intraoral Camera
We use intraoral cameras to communicate and educate her patients. Intraoral cameras are small but powerful digital cameras used to capture difficult-to-reach areas in the mouth. They are slender and look like a writing pen, and they are comfortable and easy to maneuver without patients experiencing discomfort.
With this advanced technology, we can see detailed, enlarged images of gum conditions, teeth surfaces, soft oral tissues, cavities, plaque and other dental health concerns. While patients relax in the dental chair, they can see what the dentist sees, better understanding their oral health and treatment needs.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic x-rays capture a comprehensive view of a patient’s entire mouth in a single image. With these x-rays, we can view all of the teeth, multiple bones in the head and neck and surrounding tissues.
Panoramic x-rays allow us to quickly identify jaw abnormalities, jaw development, TMJ issues, wisdom teeth, oral cancer and cysts. We typically take panoramic x-rays every three to five years, depending on a patient’s needs.
Television in Rooms
Each of our treatment rooms is equipped with TVs for our patients’ enjoyment. Televisions are a welcome distraction for many of our patients, allowing them to concentrate on their favourite show rather than their dental treatment. We also offer Netflix for those who want to watch a specific series or movie.
Another benefit of having TVs in our treatment rooms is that patients can view intraoral images and x-rays alongside their dentist. Our TVs connect to our computers, providing a detailed look at their mouths while we explain possible treatment options.
Digital X-Rays
At Urban, we use digital dental x-rays to detect, diagnose, treat and monitor oral health conditions and diseases. Unlike traditional dental x-rays, digital x-rays produce highly accurate and detailed images for immediate viewing.
Digital x-rays are also environmentally friendly and require no preparation time, as they do not require film, chemicals or other materials.
We securely store all digital images and records to monitor each patient’s progress and optimise file transfers to clinicians or specialists when needed.
Intraoral Scanner
At Urban Dental our dentists Dr Juliane and Dr Carol use the Medit i700 Intraoral Scanner.
The Medit i700 is an advanced intraoral scanner designed. It offers high-speed scanning capabilities with a lightweight and ergonomic design, making it comfortable for both dentists and patients. The i700 captures detailed 3D images of the oral cavity, providing accurate impressions for various dental procedures. With its high speed, it reduces scanning time compared to traditional methods, enhancing patient comfort.
At Urban Dental we use our Medit i700 for procedures including Crown & Bridge treatment, Implant treatment, and dentures.
